History Overview: Mary Stuart was crowned Queen of Scots at six days old, and later sent to France to marry its next king, King Francis II. Mary lived blissfully in France for thirteen years, even ruling as France’s Queen, but when her husband, died unexpectedly, Mary was forced to return home. Now, a French outsider, a devout Catholic, and a woman ruling in a male dominated society, Mary faced great dangers and threats. She would need all the courage she could muster, along with great support from her most loyal allies and friends, if she were to survive.
